More Happiness? Invest time in relationships

Research shows 70% of your happiness comes from relationships: The primary components are number of friends, closeness of friends, closeness of family, and relationships with co-workers and neighbors. Together these features explain about 70 percent of personal happiness. – Murray and Peacock 1996

Last year Cal Newport convinced 1600 people to completely change their lives. He asked them to take a 30-day break from the optional technologies in their lives. 

They got happier. More productive. They spent more quality time with their kids. One father remarked how weird it was to be the only parent at the playground not looking at his phone.
